Sunday, October 4th, 2009Through the strangeness of acts called life, I find myself back East. Fall is my favorite time of year out here, and ironically we as family were thinking of coming to visit just weeks before work landed me here. I took the op to bring a frame back with me to add some fender tabs and get a seven-year refurb. And after a sweet rig offer from Karl B. at seven (his own personal fire), I finally was able to take a little ride through the old New England haunts today (even a little river singletrack).
I didn’t make the two-wheeled full conversation lifestyle until college, so it was strange to ride known & unknown roads, see how close things truly were, and that new perspex you have per. Though not much vertical, some really great rolling yankee revolution roads, and pretty clear of congestion despite the thickly settled-ness of the rural (riding during the Pat’s game probably contributed greatly). I can see how this land is such super ‘cross riding around here. Speaking of, missed hooking up with Milliman at Gloucester GP, but will surely see him in the next two weeks.
This, all day long.
Right.
A little Montana in Mass.
The Rocks Village Bridge ahead: still hand cranked.
Mad Alchemy Embro is made just a handful of miles from here. Gotta hook with JD on a sampler pack.
How PRO is KB with the bottle support?
Elium in the garden: seat tube height spot on, with yes, a top tube/stem about 4cm short with my monkey arms… Rob V. told me KB is only a buck ten in weight too but it was well worth 2 hours of fun. Rode the tips of the Campeg, seemed dandy, just a little strangely short on the one decent… Did I say the Campeg was nice? Yes, yes, after 20 years I finally ride Campagnolo. Surprisingly so smooth. Thanks KB. More next weekend. Maybe I can score an IF this week.
