Owen Gue is the proprietor of The Cycling House, a winter training destination in Tucson, AZ. Owen was introduced to cycling at a young age through his dad. They would ride mountain bikes in the mountains near their home in Missoula, MT. Although his main focus when he was younger was skiing, cycling was always a close second and soon took over the primary position in his athletic endeavors. For his 8th grade graduation gift his parents gave him his first road bike and Owen spent his life savings (a very meager amount) on fixing it up to be race worthy. At the age of 16 he started traveling the Northwest to compete in stage races. Hammer Nutrition started sponsoring him shortly after and by the age of 18 he was racing at the elite level. In 2004 Owen place 4th at U23 Nationals and the next year he started racing for the Broadmark Capital Cycling Team based out of Seattle, WA. He participated in the US National Racing Circuit up until the age of 22 where he then decided to put road racing on hold to enjoy the pleasures of Montana summers, improve his surfing skills in California and focus on the success of The Cycling House.

This is my first post on the Freeman blog and I must say that I’m super stoked to be a part of it. I run a small company called The Cycling House and right now we are in the heart of our busy season. Basically, myself and my four best friends migrate south every winter from Missoula, MT to train and work at the house. The Cycling House gives people in the Northern part of the country a place to escape the cold climates and ride in the sunshine for a few days. I wanted to post a few photo’s of our season down here so far.
